The Shawshank Redemption

Over the course of several years, two convicts form a friendship, seeking consolation and, eventually, redemption through basic compassion. The film stars Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman, and was directed by Frank Darabont. Though the film was a box office disappointment, it received multiple award nominations and outstanding reviews from critics for its acting, story, and realism. It has since been rated as one of the best films of all time.
